As a part of the recognised festival SXSW, Nina Bruun Design Studio was chosen by the Danish Ministry of Culture to curate House of Scandinavia in Austin, TX. With SAS as a main partner on the project, House of Scandinavia was the very center of groundbreaking activities during SXSW, promoting strong forces within music, film, tech, innovation and gaming for a large audience. In addition there was established a restaurant, served by several Michelin chefs. The collaboration involved several large actors such as Roskilde Festival, DDC, DFI, MXD and the Danish royal family. It was important for Nina Bruun Design Studio to get a Scandinavian atmosphere in order to attract the audience and by choosing simple but yet interesting items, colors and setups, this succeeded.

Founded in 1987, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. An essential destination for global professionals, the event features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, and a variety of networking opportunities. SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together. SXSW 2019 takes place every March in Austin, Texas.
