NEWS/SPRING 2010: Around the world. I am very pleased to see that the knowledge of my work has spread around the world. The other day I received this amazing magazine, MARU, from Korea, featuring some of my products.

NEWS/SPRING 2010: Photog Adam Tatt, followed my work for a day and he took some cool b&w pictures, here is a couple from the study and workshop.

NEWS/WINTER&SPRING 2010: Both the Nest Chair and FOLD has been chosen by the jury of the annual SYDFORM competition/exhinition and will be exhibited at the FormDesign Center in Malmø, Sweden. Afterwards the exhibition will continue in Karlskrona, Sweden and in September the chairs will be exhibited in Copenhagen, Denmark.

NEWS/WINTER 2010: Nest Chair is my newest piece of work. Influenced by the coming season and of nature, this chair is inspired by a bird's nest. My idea was to create a graphical chaos which still felt like a unified whole.
The chair's supporting structure consists of a bottom, seat and four stabilizing legs. To create a "nest feeling" I played with birch strips in different thicknesses and hurled them around the supporting structure. In order not to divert attention from the nest of birch strips, I have chosen to make a very anonymous upholstered cushion in a dusty chocolate brown which plays beautifully
with the pale birch. It was natural for me that the chair had a soft center to create references to the bird's nest, that are typically lined with down, to form a confident frame for eggs and chicks.

NEWS/FALL 2009: FOLD is an upholstery chair. To challenge myself, I worked with three obstructions in my process. I would use upholstery in a different and modern way. I wanted the chair to be foldable and to have references to Scandinavian and japanese design.
The frame consists of 10 mm plywood which is cut into six profiles. These are assembled with hinges. The shell consists of six pieces of hard plastic, which is padded with 3 mm foam on both sides of the plastic. Finally the chair is upholstered with woolen felt. All seams on the chair is hand sewn, which took me 105 hours. The seams are visible to create a more industrially expression and to create sharp edges which gives the chair a lighter expression. It was important for me to achieve this "light expression", so the chair doesn't have too many references to elder heavy upholstery chairs. The look and function of the chair is inspired by paperfolding - especially the Japanese origami folding technique. It has been named FOLD.
The chair was exhibited at the furniture fair in Stockholm 2010.
